Overlooking the Hamilton stretch of the Brisbane River, this long-running seafood restaurant is built on the site of a historic wharf. Brett’s represents everything we love about Queensland dining – it’s big, breezy and friendly, the fresh local produce is second to none … The assortment of fish on offer changes regularly depending on the day’s catch. Fish can be served battered with chips, or done up with zesty Mediterranean inspired dressings. For groups (and big appetites), there’s a seafood platter and paella with a rich tomato base, brimming with prawns, mussels, calamari, scallops, crab, chicken and chorizo. Fresh, natural flavours win through thanks to former Baguette chef Alistair McLeod’s simple and succinct cooking.
